The Gate of Felicity

A guest called this flat "a museum " ...and indeed it is .

This was the first flat where I lived after I bought the building. And sometimes ,especially if the summer days are hot ,I like sleeping here because it is the coolest flat ...and I hate A/C.

This flat is packed with all my memories as well as with a lot of my books and some encyclopedias...I can tell you the story of every small object you can discover in the flat .

The flat has  a small entrance and the living room with a double cosy sofa bed.

 From the living room a door  leads to small fully furnished kitchen and a sliding door opens to the backyard where please water my plants if you are there in summer:) 

 The walls of the living room are covered with a lot of paintings ..some of them are old pages from an old Bible...a sunflowers field from my best turkish friend Gulcem ...two hawks in two old gravures ..a gift from my best friend in Italy ..an elephant and an horse on silk ...they witnessed my stay in India in 1992... the collections of old and modern Icons ...the old painting od the Madonna of Guadalupe from Mexico ... last but not least the gravure of Porta Maggiore in Rome ..the biggest gate of the first Rome (Istanbul was not called the second Rome?)

And again and again books...in turkish .italian ,english .There is also a moder flat tv with the dvd player and the satellite receiver...they talk the only modern language in this room ....

The living room is inhabited by the figures of old Ottomans hanging from the walls ....a sultan ,some women ,some soldiers...you can hear them whispering sometimes...

There is also my memories windowcase....just ask me about every small object there ...my turtle collection...the dervish my father modelled with his hands before his death without knowing that one day I would have moved here..

It  looks like a small maze but this is one of my favourite and more personalized flats ...I spent a lot of time and thoughts to furnish it and to try to make it like a small businesscard of my life and my soul ...
